Keeping up its line of celebrity collaborations, ABOUT YOU has teamed up with top model Bella Hadid on a collection for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. Perfect for Y2K enthusiasts, the collection includes 58 pieces that are close to Bella’s personal statement style and feature three distinct themes: “Courtcore Realness”, “The Simple Life”, and “Stunt Girl Night Out”.
For the campaign, the Bella Hadid x ABOUT YOU collection was inspired from the “sleaze aesthetic” trend of the early 2000s, showcasing Bella in bed, as she flaunts cropped vest, red printed wrap dress, knit top, and glossy leather jackets. The overall feel of the campaign highlights Bella’s effortless style and the model brings her own unique charm for the shoot. Having recently starred in shoots for Louis Vuitton and Victoria’s Secret, Bella Hadid continues to make an impression.
The first theme of the collection, “Courtcore Realness”, is all about Bella’s fondness for tennis and brings clean, minimalist designs inspired by the outfits of tennis legends of the 90s and 2000s. Loose knit hoodies, high-waisted jersey tops, and oversized sports pants give a sporty chic vibe that works well with the transitional weather as well.
The second theme, “The Simple Life”, features classic check patterns and woven fabrics in cream and rose, giving a romantic aesthetic. Details such as angel wings, butterfly prints, ruffles, and lace add to the whimsical aura of the theme, and takes back to the USA of the noughties.
The third theme, “Stunt Girl Night Out”, is sexy and rebellious, and offers bold designs including racing leather jackets, cool miniskirts, and jeans with an acid wash effect. This theme pays tribute to the stunt girls of the early 2000s with its low-waist pants with bold metal belts. Loud red accents hype up the sexiness of the pieces, while sporty striped patterns remind of the motocross trend of the era.
