Finding the perfect pair of jeans often seems like a great challenge, but when you finally track them down it feels awesome! Here are which jeans work best for your body type to make the hunt that much easier.
The Challenge: The gap in the waist.
Many women struggle to find jeans that fit in the hips and thighs that will also fit their waists.
The Solutions: Flared jeans
A small flare or bootcut fit is key to balance your top and bottom halves.
Tip: With all denim, especially indigo colours, wash them inside out in cold water with a little salt the first time.
Don’t be afraid to get your jeans altered. To get that perfect fit make sure the jeans fit well in the hips and thighs and then it’s as easy as a quick nip to the waist. If you go to a jeans specialist they should have an on-site alteration service.

The Challenge: Finding a long inseam.
If you’re on the taller side it can be a challenge to find an inseam at the right length.
The Solution: Straight leg jeans
Don’t be afraid to branch out of your tried and true brands and sizes. Many jeans now come in standard long inseams that allow them to be custom hemmed to the right length. A straight leg is the easiest cut to hem without changing the shape as it is pretty uniform down the leg.
Tip: Look for nice high pockets and yoke for a perky bum.

The Challenge: Getting out of the jeggings
Legging jeans have taken over because of their comfort and ease, but they can’t take the place of the polish and structure that traditional jeans with a waistband and pockets have to offer.
The Solution: Whiskered bootcut jeans
Jeans with some fading down the front draws the eye up and down. A bootcut balances the shape on the top and bottom. When hemming jeans ask for original hem for the additional level of polish.
Tip: Check the pocket size to make sure it scales to the size of your jeans – tiny pockets are not really flattering on any size.
