Critics may not think so, but her management team and especially label home of Epic Records, certainly do.
When asked if the Atlanta native and once-chart topper could reach Number One again, the agreed upon standard of most label benchmarks for high profile acts, an Epic Records staffer responded with “Of course. We can do better than reach it.”
To be confident is one thing. But fortunately for Epic Records, while they continue to re-package the iconic record label into new urban music royalty, the team has not yet drowned. A few solid top-40’s and the label, who is led by a figurehead who certainly knows how to spend money, can shock the music industry.
Here’s to hoping history refuses to repeat itself.
